baby girl.

My sister is having a baby girl!

We have been waiting to find out the gender because baby girl was being shy during her sonograms. But, it's official! It's most fitting for a family of sisters to have a baby girl first. We know how girls work. Sugar and spice and everything nice. Speaking of sugar, my sister had the cutest idea to tell the family the big news. (I already knew a few days before, but I wish I could have been there for the announcement.) On Thanksgiving she baked a layered cake for the family at home. They are her specialty, and I really don't know how she actually does it. It was similar to the rainbow cake she made for my little sister's birthday, and the yellow ombre cake she made for my wedding. She brought the white iced cake and set it on the table during dinner while everyone made guesses. After dinner, my mom got to cut it open to find out what the gender was. A pink ombre cake! It's a girl!

  1. Yay! That's precious. I love your family :)

  2. Aunt Roxanne....Roxy....Roxie....Rox....y'all have to pick one soon.

  3. Congrats to your family, you sound excited about your new niece and the cake. Just think how many more cakes there will be with all of the occasions that children bring.
